The Kernel Brewery Export India Porter Recipe

Kernel Export Porter Recipe

The Kernel Brewery is a brewery that every home brewer can look up to. Started by Evin O’Riordain underneath a railway arch it has become one of the most iconic and influential breweries in the UK.

Beer names consist of a style and often just a subtitle of the hops used and predominately focused on pale and hoppy beers or dark, full bodied beers. Export India Porter is a combination of the two, straddling hoppy and dark.

Export India Porter?

The recipe for Kernels Export India Porter is based on a recipe from 1855 by Barclay Perkins. The hops have been substituted for Chinook and Columbus from the original recipe and  hopped in a similar way to an IPA

Like a lot of Kernel Breweries beers experimentation as well as quality and respect for the ingredients are at the heart of this beer.
